Hot Flushes
Would love to know if others have had this problem. I am 75yrs. old, but since about 50 the only time I have never had flushes was when I was on HRT. Now, off HRT. because of Breast Cancer and taking Tamoxifen I am having terrible flushing. The Doctor's have tried every medication, I even went to hospital to have a "Stella Ganglia Block" but nothing has worked. My Doctor's now want to put me back on to hormones, which worries me, as my cancer was aggressive and 3/3. Any advice or opinion, would be appreciated.121Views0likes6CommentsConcerned
Hi ladies I have a general question for you, I have been told that even though I am almost 2 years past diagnosis, that I am still compromised... I am on Arimadex, and also my 2 year check up and has been bought forward as I have found another lump in my unaffected breast.. does anyone know if this is correct Thanks.151Views0likes2CommentsTamoxifen sweats! How do you manage your smell?!
Hi ladies, I’m doing well so far on tamoxifen, it has been 2 full months. I am experiencing hot flushes and have become quite a sweaty person. I want to change my clothes and shower twice a day. I feel like my pj’s smell. I’m using a crystal deodorant for my underarms but wondering if there is such a thing as an all over solution that isn’t a spray deodorant? Is there such a thing as a deodorant soap? I’m not finding an answer with Google today!271Views0likes15CommentsWhen Do Side Effects Finish
Please can someone tell me how long after stopping hormone treatment do the side effects go away. I went through early menopause with the blink to an eye, no side effects at all. It sort of just happened over night. When I was having hormone treatment I got every side effect there was. I tried three different drugs and I still had trouble so in consultation with the doctor it was decided that I would stop talking them. The side effects haven't stopped yet & I know that it's too soon but the hot flushes are driving me crazy, especially since I didn't have them when I went through menopause. What I want to know is how long is this likely to go on for or if anyone can, give me some tips to cope with it? The other side effects I can manage but the hot flushes and fatigue are a different story. Paula221Views0likes15CommentsTaxol 5, Herceptin 2
A long afternoon at chemo today, had Taxol and Herceptin today. Usual side effects, body aches, hot flushes, blurry vision. A new one of bright red snot and sore nose! Nice. A nice comment yesterday at work: Modified duties co-ordintor said to me: "Cheryle, you're the bright part of my morning. All the others come in and say I've got a sore shoulder/wrist/neck/back etc. You come in and you're always cheerful and smiling, no moaning." I looked at him and said with a grin, "sorry can't do it today,I'm tired! ":).1View0likes9Comments
