Need a get away?
I've been reading the posts from ladies who are getting toward the end of their treatment and thought this might be a good time to remind you of the fantastic opportunity the Otis Foundation offers to anyone who has been thrown into the Breast Cancer mincer. Otis has a number of properties across the country (predominately Victoria ) that are available at no cost to you. The majority are available for 4 days mid-week though there are a couple, like the fabulous Kez's Hideaway in Victoria, which are available over the weekend. All you need to cover is your food and travel. Most of the properties are self catering, so it is possible to have a four day holiday without breaking the bank. Most things that sound too good to be true are a scam, but this offer doesn't come with any strings attached. Seriously. The only thing Otis asks is that you treat the properties with respect and promote the foundation if you get the chance. Which I am delighted to do. So, if your string is getting a bit short and you are feeling that some time away may help, get onto their website and see what is on offer. They are really user friendly--either chose a property and then find out when it is available or ring them and tell them when you can get away and they will tell you what your options are at that time. So happy to be able to get back on line. Have been trying for the last few weeks but couldn't get on. A computer glitch I guess. Well its chemo day today and again next Tuesday but after that my oncologist has given me a couple of weeks off, so my husband and I have planned a holiday in Tasmania. My daughter and her little family moved there last year to live . They bought a federation style home with a small farm. So looking forward to a break away. When I return I have to face having the dreaded scans but I am blocking that thought out of my mind until I come back. Had better sign off as the chemo ward is waiting. At least I have made alot of new friends who are going through chemo as well and the nurses are always cheerful.Holidays
Hi All. I'm off on a short holiday with hubby and 3 adult boys in a cabin by the river. I've dragged them out the cave kicking and screaming. Family time it's going to be. So my apologies if I'm not here. But then again who knows I might pop in. Love to you all. Remember you are all incredible and no matter how hard your day is there is always soneone here listening. You are stronger than you think. BELIEVE. Kath x212Views3likes17CommentsHoliday over.
Just had a great week away in Tassie visiting my daughter and her little family and stayed at a farm retreat near by. It was so relaxing, fresh country air fresh farm produce. A week off chemo ,what bliss.! I could have stayed there longer. Im sure that peace and quite, good food and country air would do me much more good than chemo any day. Oh well , back to scans this week and finding out the results next Friday . I'm feeling a little anxious but hopefully I will get back to Tassie again. It's the best way to charge your batteries.
