Re: Depression over Mets
@Marianne63 sorry to hear that you are feeling a bit down and depressed but hoping you are feeling better soon. I understand the grief of loosing a beloved pet and sometimes it's too much to deal with when you have other things going on in your life. I used to work at RSPCA and their shelters often have wonderful loving affectionate cats looking for homes, especially at this time of year. If you are not too keen on a kitten, there are usually a lot of adult cats available for adoption that often getting overlooked for the cute playful kittens. I must admit, there were times were I fell in love with some adorable older animals there and it took all my strength not to bring them home with me (not to mention my husband would have killed me if I had :p ) and I would often be so exited when someone came an inquired about my favourite animals and wanted to adopt them. Good luck with everything and I hope you find a loving companion to comfort you on the next part of your journey xx RochelleRe: Hair Loss is not always temporary
That is interesting that you oncologist never noticed your thyroid function as I thought this would be a standard test as part of your full blood count test which they do regularly through your treatment? I'm not a health professional though so I could be way off! Glad to hear they may be able to shed some light on the situation!12Views0likes0CommentsRe: Any ideas ?? ... Tamoxifen drives me crazy
@stemi can you fit in the gentle exercise class on Wednesday mornings with Erin? I've found it to be quite good as it's not a high intensity class but still works the whole body and Erin will modify some of the exercises to suit if you are finding them difficult. It's mainly oldies in the class and I am by far the youngest! ;)5Views0likes0CommentsRe: Constant head spins on AC chemo
Thanks @primek it's good to know I'm not the only one that has had this side effect. My onc just looked at me blankly when I told him about it which was a bit frustrating! If it wasn't for the constant head spin, I would actually be feeling really good! Now I just need a magic cure to make it go away :p2Views0likes0CommentsConstant head spins on AC chemo
I completed my 2nd round of AC chemo just over a week ago and I've been having constant head spins for the last few days. I pretty much always feel like I'm about to pass out and it gets worse when I lie down and close my eyes. I had this a bit after my first round but not enough for me to be concerned. I mentioned it to my onc and he didn't seem too concerned. They took my blood pressure both sitting down and standing up and it was fine. I don't have any other symptoms like headaches, blurry vision, memory loss etc, it's just the contact head spin. I feel like I'm drugged up to the eyeballs constantly and can barely function and it's getting really annoying. It doesn't seem to be a common side effect of chemo so my onc doesn't really seem concerned. Did anyone else have this side effect??53Views0likes6CommentsRe: Taxol or carbo and hot flushes?
Wow that's an amazing effort. I have been told that 14 days after AC chemo, most people are at their lowest point with their immunity and their white blood cell count would be at its lowest so I'm not surprised you ended up in hospital. At least the AC is over now and hopefully you will get through the next but without too much trouble.2Views0likes0CommentsRe: Taxol or carbo and hot flushes?
@ccasper the AC is going ok. I just had another round today and lying in bed now feeling a bit sorry for myself! The last few weeks have been pretty good though, saw the oncologist yesterday and he is very happy with my bloods and how well my body recovered after the first round so hopefully that happens again! I found the first week after chemo to be the worst then I felt pretty good after that.3Views0likes0Comments
