Today's the Day

Well todays the day.

The last day I will look like "me", the last day of being pain free (for a while), the last day I can hug my hubby really tight, the last day of normality.

Im feeling a bit teary and apprehensive. Adrienne

  • Hi Adrienne, all the best. Sending hugs and hope you have a speedy recovery .feeling for you. Your hugs with your hubby will be tight again soon. I am missing that too but I know soon all will be good again. Surgery over and  your anxiety will pass. X

  • Aww you ladies made me tear up!

Adrienne all the very best, big breath, big hugs to get through and I have no doubt in my mind you absolutely will, stronger than you ever thought you could be. Ive had a  5yr journey of recurrence and its a tough road, just remember above everything...to love yourself through it. 'You are enough'

I'm facing mastectomy in the months ahead. Let us all know how you are going.

    Hugs

  • Best wishes for today. You are stronger than you think. You've  got this. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Kath x

  • Good luck for today, Im 5 days after my mastectomy the pain isn't any where near as bad as you would imagine, and when you wake up and have you're clothes on look in the mirror you are still you in every way just stronger, and loved exactly the same to those that matter. Thinking of you and sending big hugs.   Cat xx

  • Hi Adrienne - I can feel the pain and apprehension in your tone - made me cry - I had my mastectomy in Feb and still remember the raw feelings and reality - you are in my thoughts- this is about you - allow yourself to feel any and all emotions - sending love and gentle hugs ??

  • Yeah what a crap day but hey its a positive one toward getting this cancer gone! We do what we have to do and its not easy to adjust but we muddle through and one day down the track of life we become happy again. Now is the time to take care of you. Don't worry about anything else, just get well soon.

  • Adrienne, sending you good wishes for today. It can be a bit scary, but you'll do just fine. I had double mastectomy 2 weeks ago and the pain isn't as bad as you anticipate. After today you are on the road to recovery.

It's Ok to feel teary and apprehensive! This is a big deal.....But like the majority of us on this forum, you will get through!

You'll still be you, just a modified version.....in time you will embrace it and realise just how strong you are! Be proud of your scars and how far you have come....

Wishing you the very best for today....sending love and light for easy recovery and beautiful days
