Surgery Scar

@Kellee I know it’s really sensitive to touch but perhaps you could try applying the bio oil with a soft make up brush perhaps ?? Just a thought love. Margie xx

I used double strength vit E cream from the chemist. I hate the feel of bio oil.

I had a reasonable amount of a pulling feeling as well at the start both under my arm and the breast for a long time until the scars started to soften.   Also had  a monster seroma that has taken about 18mths to disperse. 

I'll just mention this in case they want to drain it later just a question to ask maybe.

 There seems to be split opinion about draining these things.  My surgeon and breast care nurses advised that if it wasn't incredibly painful and I could put up with it don't drain it.  The reasons were    a) It almost always recollects and sometimes worse.  b) increased risk of infection by poking needles in there.  c) By letting it reabsorb naturally there is less chance of the breast collapsing inwards and the cosmetic outcome is much better.  

Hope all goes well, but it does take what seems like an eternity for it to start feeling somewhat normal again.

My apologies I didnt mean to alarm anyone. I was told by medic who specialises on scar management not to use Bio Oil. True @kezmusc it would seem that everything is bad. 

When do you see the surgeon again?

Thanks @Josephine66 @kezmusc @Sister I went to see the BC nurse yesterday and she said there was a definite pulling from my nipple towards my armpit. She also said I had a little bit of fluid that I need to keep an eye on. She advised me to massage with bio oil to soften the scar but said if it (the pulling) doesn’t settle I might need surgery (later on) to correct it. She taped my boob (like they do for sports injuries) and my upper back (I’m getting pain there too) to help ease the pain. She thinks the fluid could be contributing to a lot of my pain but found the pulling unusual. She wants me to see the 6 weeks post surgery out to see if things settle. I’m week 3.
I see the radiation oncologist on Tuesday and the chemo oncologist in 3 weeks. I hope everything settles before I start any treatment.
i try using the bio oil but because of the pain I can’t bring myself to massage with it :(

My surgeon recommended Bio-Oil, too.

I had a great result from Bio oil.  Keeps the scars soft and moveable. The scar under my arm is pretty invisible.

Great....another thing I've used that's going to kill me.....Don't really see the difference in QV as it has petroleum based products in it as well.
