Mastectomy blues

Day three after a mastectomy and I feel like I did on day three after having a baby. Baby blues and mastectomy blues must be best mates.

  • Remember - the Amazons were supposed to cut theirs off so they didn't get in the way.  You're a warrior, now!
  • There are quite a few members who will do that to you. A bit of humour, especially black humour at times, is just what we need to dust ourselves off and keep plodding along...
  • Thank you @AllyJay it has been a yoyo week. SoldierCrab was wicked and made me laugh. She was very funny in one of her other posts this morning.
  • Sending a big cyber (((hug))) Blossom. Don't forget, aside from the mental shock of losing your breast or breasts, you have just had major surgery and the anaesthetic too. Your poor body has been sliced and diced, blood lost and the drugs used to keep you under all combine to cause a massive shock to your body. Give yourself time to mourn your loss, and give yourself time to adapt to a different body. Be kind to yourself, and remember, it will get better. Your new tribe here will always be here to support you, hold your hand (albeit electronically), and to cheer you on.
