Baby after breast cancer
Hi Ladies,
I was diagnosed with TNBC in April. I have had a lumpectomy & nodes removed from my right arm. I have 4 weeks left of chemo, then 6 weeks of rads straight after & waiting on genetic testing.
Has anyone out there had a baby after treatment?
If so was there a wait period? I've tried talking to my surgeon & he just says its up to me.
I'm feeling really confused, I really want another baby, but is it silly & selfish as I could have a recurrence?

- Conceived naturally never got to do ivf pre chemo so we left it to see if it happened if not so be it but we were very lucky

- Hi, Just wanted to share, my husband and I had a baby girl post chemo, I stopped tamoxifen after the 2.5 yr mark to try and conceive. First pregnancy was a miscarriage at 14wks gs 5mths later our 2nd pregnancy was an ectopic and I lost one of my tubes as it ruptured. Gave up all hope and got careless, 2mths later we were pregnant with our third and final attempt, ecstatic, scared, worried, anxious, happy, etc. we had our baby girl Chloe full term, all fingers and toes, completely healthy.
- Hey Mells, My main tumor is ER/PR- (her2+) and because its hormone neg, my Onc is happy for to try for child once I finish Herceptin. (Aug next yr) (I have a 8mm hormone positive one too but she is not concerned about that) I'll be 39 n have no children (we have embryos from Ivf). If your BC was hormone pos it's a different story with waits normal advised 2-5yrs. All the best Karen

- Thanks Ronni70, My story very similar to you. It took us a while to get pregnant, and same got a lump while breast feeding & bang cancer! But I always think it could've been worse at least I found it! Now I'm just trying to think & plan for the future! Goodluck with everything xx
