Amoena Breast Forms

Hi ladies

Has anyone any experience of the Amoena breast forms?

I had a mastectomy 4 weeks ago, followed by two additional surgeries which created extra bruising and swelling.  I am now up to wearing my fantastic Berlei post op bra with insert and feeling more human (thank you, BCNA and Berlei).

I am looking at being professionally fitted for an Amoena Breast Form and am hoping some ladies have comments re their experience of the various styles.

I am leaning towards a 'contact' form so it sticks to my body but that may not be suitable in hot weather or due to Tamoxifen flushes !

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.  Have a good weekend.

  • Hi Summer

I have the Amoena Balance Delta (a partial) .......I had a mastectomy with implant recon but due to bad contracture I have now had a smaller implant put in & I am quite lopsided so have the prosthesis. It is silicone & I have it directly on my skin in my normal everyday underwired bra. I doesn't move around it is comfortable & not hot. I must say I didn't have it when I had the worst of my hot flushes but I will say I do feel heat/humidity a great deal & I haven't had any problems with the prosthesis........that breast doesn't sweat anymore !!!!!!   I don't know why but that is the honest truth !. I am using my older smaller one (same type) as my swimming one. I sewed some pockets in my tank tops & just rinse it afterwards.

You can have a look at them on the internet.

Here in Canberra we have a little store who fit them by appointment & they were great (under $150.00 for the partial)  & I got it all back from medicare.

    Best of luck

  • I know what you mean about baggy!! I am thinking I might just try a regular bra,and not the one that I bought with the breast form. Its actually pretty ugly:( I'm interested to see what others have to say.xxx
  • Hi Robyn

Thank you for your comment.  I was thinking that if I got a 'sticky' sort and it did not work I would just shove it in a pocketted bra anyway !

I am not huge either but find my clothes just look terrible as they hang down baggy from that shoulder.  The Berlei bra and soft form at least fill the gap !

Thanks again - it will be good to hear from other ladies.

  • I will tell you my experience with this.I was professionally fitted at David Jones in Sydney. The ladies were lovely.I have an Amoena breast form and the name on the box is Naytura.I have never liked it from the day I got it.I have worn it maybe 3 times in 12 months, and each time,it has always felt as though it is slipping down.I don't know about the stick on ones.I know for me they wouldn't be good because my skin across my chest is too sensitive.I am small breasted, and I just don't worry about having one breast any more.I wear clothes that aren't too tight, and if I had to go somewhere that called for me to be really dressed up,well then I would wear my breast form. But for now it just stays as my 'Boob in a box!! Cheers xoxRobyn
