TC Chemotherapy
Had Round 3 of TC chemo on Monday morning. Bone aches arrived like clockwork on Thursday night, but now on Friday, I seem to have lower back pain and hip pain for the first time as well. Is this normal? I have been walking 1.5 - 2 kms each day this week.
I am finding the variety, and variance, of side effects, to be weird. For example, Round 1, a little nausea, Round 2, a lot, Round 3, none so far.

- @"Kiwi Angel" and @kmakm - I had a heart attack nearly 3 years ago and was told that would be 'taken into account' during the initial planning for my chemo. I was given the more toxic Doxorubicin instead of Docetaxol. (both very similar side effects)
They said they were "removing the parts that might damage my heart". I never suffered from a racing heart during chemo because there simply was no racing to be done. I lived a level life without hills or stairs.
My question is what is it there for in the first instance if they can just 'remove' it? - @"Kiwi Angel " I was the same. It took five weeks after the end of the last three week cycle to stop.
- @kmakm I get puffed and a racing heart if I do any kind of exercise t the moment - even walking up a hill or stairs.
- @"Kiwi Angel" Isn't it? It explains the horrible fast beating heart I had when I made the slightest exertion in the second half of chemo and the first few weeks afterwards.

- @"Kiwi Angel" I asked my oncologist why TC was four cycles and not six. The answer was it damages your heart too much, and after four the risk outweighs the benefit...
- Dammit!! Another potential joy to look forward too!! I got a pedicure the other week but didn’t enjoy it due to numb/tingly feet - won’t bother doing that anytime soon. Hope your toenails aren’t too scary!!
- @"Kiwi Angel" Sorry to say they first started going brown during Cycle 4 I think and none started lifting until after chemo was finished. Going to take my toe nail polish off this weekend, and see what horrors lurk beneath!
- Oh no @kmakm it’s definitely the gift that keeps on giving for your nails. Mine seem to be surviving ok - I really think the dark nail polish has helped. There are still time for mine to turn to crap too though.
- And another three nails have started to lift. Only two healthy ones left now :#
