TC Chemotherapy
Had Round 3 of TC chemo on Monday morning. Bone aches arrived like clockwork on Thursday night, but now on Friday, I seem to have lower back pain and hip pain for the first time as well. Is this normal? I have been walking 1.5 - 2 kms each day this week.
I am finding the variety, and variance, of side effects, to be weird. For example, Round 1, a little nausea, Round 2, a lot, Round 3, none so far.

- jewel-eeMemberGood luck for tomorrow @Finch and @Kiwi Angel & here's to smooth sailing for you - the sparking wine sounds divine! It must help having an understanding of what may unfold.
My first week has been challenging (damned diarrhoea) but finally after 3 days of baby food my tummy is starting to settle today - heaven :-) still incredibly tired with no energy but I figure not being able to eat much would contribute to that.
Stuck in hospital atm because my temp spiked...am hopeful I will be out tomorrow.
Jules xxxx - FinchMember@primek I feel a bit like that but my husband says it looks good and makes me look younger ..... It probably means I look 57 instead of 58 - ha! So far I'm only wearing on days I dress up a bit, I prefer a cap and scarf mostly and as its cold here at the moment, I wear my Wee Willy Winky cap during the day at home
Thanks @kmakm and @"Kiwi Angel" ..... Im all ready for my chemo holiday. Housework blitz today, food is in, everything ready. I've had a terrific few days. HIgh tea today at a lovely spot in the Yarra Valley for a friends 60th I'd organised before all this bc happened. I went to a friends daughters wedding ceremony yesterday. I have FaceTime with a group of friends overseas tonight. I've been drinking sparkling wine over the weekend @"Kiwi Angel" and enjoying it. My taste buds have returns somewhat. I don't think I'll sleep tonight but husband will wear shades if I need to read.
@"Kiwi Angel" all the best for tomorrow and the coming week. I'll keep in touch. Hope our treatment two is like @kmakm 's. We leave at 730 in the morning for 8.30 , an early start for us.
Take care everyone xxx - primekMember@Finch ...my wig looked like dress up clothes so I never wore it. However if you go to a gairdresser they can cut it do it suits you better. I might have liked mine better if tbat had been done.
I just wore caps and scarves. - Kiwi_AngelMemberThanks @kmakm xoxoxo. Hopefully it is the same for me/us. Started on my dex again today but hopefully get a better sleep tonight than I did the last time. The fear of the unknown is gone and I was abit naughty yesterday and had a few beers and a late night so will curl up with my book after dinner. All prepared for my crappy days. Getting some food out of the freezer and have put in my meal requests and it’s hubby. @Finch hope it goes well for u too xoxoxox
- kmakmMember@Finch @"Kiwi Angel" Good luck with Round Two tomorrow ladies. I found No 2 the easiest of my four. I hope it all goes as smoothly as my bald head! :) <3 :* K xox
- kmakmMemberHang in there @Finch, another week to ten days and it should be gone. Sadly along with your hair!
- FinchMemberThanks @Sister , I'll have a look . Hopefully I'll be an expert soon. My scalp is very tender tonight. Xx
- SisterMemberThere's lots of clips online to show you how to tie a classy turban style scarf. As for wigs, see if there's anywhere you can hire from just in case you find that you don't wear it as much as you thought you would.
- Kiwi_AngelMember@Finch Rod Stewart - haha. Glad u had a friend go wig shopping with u. I have read you should moisturise your scalp as well - I’m assuming this as long as it doesn’t sting. It’s good u have some fun things coming up. We have lots of things planned for the end of June when I am finished and hopefully my tastebuds have returned!! @jewel-ee I can live in hope that keeps happening!! I haven used my zoffran but a work friend recommended it - she said it was so good when she had bad sickness during her pregnancies.
- FinchMember@"Kiwi Angel" I got a very itchy scalp and still is. I would have loved something outlandish, but I'm sooooo conservative it's not funny. A friend had tried to put me in a platinum blonde bob, but it's so not me.
I went for a shorter style, my mousey colouring but blonde highlights at the top. It's still in the box and will try it when the time comes. I may wear my turban and scarf first as my scalp is feeling tender.
As im tall, and have a smallish head and very fine hair I've never been able to wear a short style so in many ways this will be very different for me. When I put on a more expensive fuller wig I ended up looking like Ted Mulry or Rod Stewart. Eewww!!
Not sure yet, but I plan on wearing a cap more often than a wig. I have two occasions in the calendar next weekend I'm dressing up for and plan on wearing the wig for both. We shall see.
