Taxol
Greetings, I am currently at 5/12 Taxol treatments. Going ok, but wanted to ask if others out there in Taxol land have had a rash....And have your eyelashes fallen out as mine have ? I have had surgery, 4 rounds of Epirubicin & will be having radiotherapy & hormone treatment at the end of all treatment. I did lose most of my hair so had my head shaved, now it is growing back & still red !! Thought it may grow back grey or white..Only about 1/2 inch so far...will probably go again with radiotherapy!

- Wren20MemberKmakm ....another milestone done and dusted for you .... Do you take any vitamin type supplements at all ? I ask because I do and I do really find that they help me . I could let you know what they are if you would like me to... Again, we are all different & react differently to stuff, but if we think about how much 'poison' is going in to our bodies, then it stands to reason, to me anyway, that anything that can help to keep things a bit natural and boost the body's health, then I will be in that !!
Have a lovely day...nice weather so I hope you are able to have a nice walk or do something you like to do.
@deshina.....that's interesting re sun ... Must watch that when I am done, as I am a redhead with fair skin. My rashes /spots are so much better after using apple cider vinegar dabbed on them ! Cheaper too than all the salves I tried !! - Wren20Member
- kezmuscMemberHi @desinha,
It's just another one of those "everyone's different" things. 8 mths later my weird skin rash crops up every so often and I'm still pretty sun sensitive which is a real pain in the butt considering I live on a farm. That's about the only chemo side effect that still pops up. I never really suffered from the fatigue so that was a bonus. My bloods were back to normal 1mth after chemo. It just depends I guess.
Hope you feel better soon. - kmakmMemberI've just finished TC chemo & my onc said to would take two to three months to get to 60% - 70%, and a year to get to 100%. Sigh...
- desinhaMemberI have finished with my 12 weekly Taxol chemo cycles 15 days back. My hair, eyebrows and eye lashes are yet to come back. However I still feel very tired and sometimes feel difficulty in breathing during Night. I do get headaches as well on some days !!
Just wondering if all this is normal?
When will the Chemo side effects disappear and we can expect to be on recovery path? How long it takes for the blood counts to return normal and we regain our Immunity? - Wren20MemberMy pleasure kmakm !
- kmakmMemberOoh thank you @Wren20, that is a good tip. It did come back again and it's still bugging me a bit so I'll try that tomorrow!
- Wren20MemberTo kmakm.....Just to let you know, I am / have used APPLE CIDER VINEGAR on my spots / rash....most are gone, or going !! Yay ! Natural, cheaper than all the creams and potions I had tried. A little drying to the skin, so have plenty of moisturiser ready !! Good luck if you try this. I have pale, sensitive skin...r
- Wren20MemberThankyou all for your information and knowledge. Each of us are different eh !! And yet we are all kind of the same...all wandering through the extraordinary world of Breast Cancer. Take care all.
- kmakmMemberI'm having Docetaxel (same family I believe) and after each dose I've had a spotty rash come up along my hairline at the back. Last time I had it come up on my upper chest and it was itchy. Waiting to see what happens this time.
