Tamoxifen Side Effects

The last time I was in hospital ( fixing the wretched seroma) on departure I wax presented with two boxes of tablets to reduce pain (I didn't have any), one to counteract inflammation (ditto) and two to counteract the other medications! True! Left them all at the hospital. Don't get me wrong, I am all for pain relief but it seems very hard to get the medication some people clearly need and all too easy to
get medication you have no reason to be given! 

Good to read they found a solution!
Breast surgeon appointments are always something to make us all shake and quiver at the very thought.
For me waiting on MRI results, fingers crossed

Happy new year to you
My GP referred my to a Rheumatologist I was diagnosed with 
Inflammation Arthritis which is a blanket term which covers several 
Inflammation problems as yet no conclusive diagnosis I am now taking 4 extra pills a day
Tamoxofin was not the problem 
Next week I see the breast surgeon for my 18 months check up I am feeling apprehensive

I have been on it for 6 months and have a little joint pain - the worst is in my hands when I first wake up in the morning but goes away pretty quickly when I stretch them out. I take panadol osteo before bed to help with the other quite mild joint pain.  

@iserbrown I did ask my GP last week who was  noncommittal and advised me to ask the Oncologist my next vist is in April next year but I am seeing the Surgeon in January
I believe that Tamoxifen is causing my joint problems but I am in middle of a rock and a hard place I realise Tamoxifen is not a magic bullet but my greatest fear is the cancer will came back
There is several things and supplements which I can do to make it easier to cope with the problem

The Hyperplasia mentioned above, I suffered from that, Tamoxifen induced and it came on pretty much at the start, within the month of starting Tamoxifen. After two surgeries and 2+ years I came off Tamoxifen.  As to the joint pain that also came along!

Not everyone suffers what I did 
Perhaps a visit to your GP for a discussion before your Specialist appointment may help resolve what it is as we are all different in how our bodies metabolise medications and reactions et cetera

@Stork I did have joint pain, but I still have it and I haven’t been on Tamoxifen for a few years. I hope you are feeling better. Joint pain is the worst. 

@Rose18 was bone/muscle and joint pain part of your side effects is so when did they first appear? 
I have been doing some research on reputable sites there is conflicting advice weather Tamoxifen causes 
joint pain and when it first manifests itself
