scarring
Hi there, has anyone tried 'skin needling' to reduce the scarring around the nipple area. I had a mastectomy and reconstruction, was surprised with the scarring around the nipple. even with tattooing, the scarring is (to me) fairly obvious. thanks.

- Jane221MemberHI @unknown, I had "dry needling" (a type of acupuncture) around my breast and tummy areas following my DIEP Flap reconstruction (which involved moving tummy tissue to my chest to form a new breast). The scar areas along my tummy and on both breasts (I had a lift the other side) were very tight and were quite obvious, although I didn't have that problem around my nipple recon. I was pretty sceptical about how the dry needling would work, never having had anything like that before, but was surprised how quickly the scars softened over a couple of sessions. A specially trained physiotherapist did mine and I thought it was worthwhile. I also used Bio Oil and Vitamin E creams to help and the scars (2 years on from recon) are much less obvious. Hope this helps :) Jane xx
