Sandoz vs tamosil

Hi folks,

Ive been on Tamosil for nearly 2 years but had to switch to Sandoz tamoxifen due to a shortage during Covid. I feel that I’m much more fatigued, with more joint pain than previously. Logically this doesn’t make sense to me, as the main ingredient is the same, in the same dosage. Anyone else had a similar experience or am I just going gaga?!
  • We sure are individual in the way our bodies react.  For me Sandoz suits me fine!
    You are certainly not gaga

    Take care and best wishes
  • There is definitely a difference between brands even though most pharmacists will tell you there shouldn't be.  I was on genox which was horrendous.  Thankfully the pharmacy was out of it at one stage so went on to Novladex D.  The SE's are still there but are significantly reduced in there intensity. Definitely not gaga.
  • Some people are particularly sensitive to changes in the binders used in pill manufacture by different brands. The active ingredient is the same but the binders (the substances that hold the pill together) differ. A clear difference is when a binder may not be suitable to someone who is lactose intolerant, but some people find more subtle differences give some unpleasant results. So definitely not gaga, if you can get back to your usual brand and the symptoms vanish, you may have your answer. Best wishes.
