Post-chemotherapy
Would anyone be able to give me advice relating to post-Taxole therapy please. I have recently finished ( 3 weeks ) treatment, however have had a few aches and body pains since. Should I be concerned? Don't want to over-react.

- Brenda5MemberIts sort of achy all the time everywhere then one day you notice somewhere hasn't ached in a while, then another spot gets better. I had warts on my foot, been there for donkeys years but a few months after the chemo they disappeared sort of like the pain does, a bit at a time.
- primekMemberHope things keep improving rapidly for you.
- HulosMemberHi, the aches and pains are all normal and can differ on individuals.
I finished 16 rounds of chemo two weeks ago, still have some pain in knees. I am releaved that chemo is over and that makes me happy and gives me a boost of energy.
I am also going for acupuncture at Concord hosp. which should also help with aches and pains and any other side affects of chemo.
Dont be concerned, it will improve in time.:)
Take care. ..xxx - ZoffielMember3 weeks after my last docetaxol my legs completely seized up, literally overnight. I've been whinging and bitching about it ever since. I can now negotiate stairs, walk up a hill and sit down on the loo without moaning and having to hang onto something, but my feet still feel like they don't belong to me.
I'm on Femara now which I thought would make things worse. It hasn't. I'm slowly coming good but it's been ten weeks of limping and grizzling. I'd love to have some physiotherapy, but there is no public service here and I can't afford to go private. - AnnabelleMemberI finished about 4 weeks ago and I still feel really foggy. Its hard to concentrate.
- Renee73MemberThanks Melinda, really appreciate your comments.
- primekMemberI continued to ache for months so in 3 weeks it's still really just getting out your body. Hope things improve soon.
- melclarityMemberRenee, I had neuropathy in my feet, so my toes would go numb and hurt like hell! especially when I started to walk again at about 20mins. They are much better now though in walking. I get really sore heels, ankles, knees and hips. Lower back plays up and neck. Joints mainly, just an achiness, but the feet have been the worst, when I get up in the morning I can't walk, its like on hot coals until I get going. x
- Renee73MemberThanks girls!! What sort of side effects did you suffer from Melinda? Completely understand if you do not wish to share.
Cheers Renee - melclarityMemberHey Renee, all completely normal, Im 16 months post chemo FEC and Taxol and still have residual side effects, mine is compounded by the meds I have to take. So it can be a combination of things, so early days yet, your body needs time to heal and recover. Best thing I did when I was ready which was probs 6 months post was see an Exercise Physiologist who I still work with I stopped pre surgery and have begun with her again. Best thing ever, Im really moving ahead now. xx Melinda
