Possible drug therapy for lymphoedema

Hi,

Thought I'd share some exciting research I came across this week about a possible drug treatment for lymphoedema: Research

It's such a frustrating condition for many of us and yet it is still so misunderstood. Hopefully this type of research will give us another treatment option to pursue.

Have a great weekend everyone xx
  • I have lymphoedema with a nice pink rash thought it was celuitus sorry for the spelling ,had pain 24/7 not enough fluid to drain depressed me big time. I found it very hard to find anything that related to me for combating it. Luckily my breast care nurse helped me out and I have been having lymphatic massage once a week and got subsidised by my council which was great in stead of $70 bucks I pay $45 for eight to ten treatments. I have found this great I live in a country area the start of the Barossa Valley everything is the other side of town takes hour or more to get any kind of treatment nothing the northern side. Lucky my BCN had a few ladies that did this kind of massage only 30 mins away from home ya!!!! Any way we had a plan the first part was taping all good then the next day rash allergic to the tape although we had done a tester arrr! So the back up treatment was mobiderm that I place in my bra everyday and that has softened it a bit. I have noticed in the cooler weather it's better not so swollen and hot to touch,I felt great having a plan and we were all on the same page, now I have just started once a fortnight for my massages see how that goes then extend it a bit more
  • That's encouraging, if only because someone is trying to do something.

Company sponsored trials make a lot of research folk nervous as there has been some appalling behaviour associated with them in the past but the results are often subjected to greater peer scrutiny because of that. Here's hoping ***crosses fingers that still bend***
