Anyone here having trouble with Arm Compression Sleeves
Can anyone help with suggestions to keep my arm sleeve from slipping. The grip tops seem to never be tight enough so my sleeve is always sliding down causing creases & sore spots around the elbow. My therapist has given me 4 to try in the last 4 months & nothing fits me !! Mediven Esprit standard CCL2 is the sleeve I have just purchases.122Views0likes3CommentsLymphadema and arthritis
Hi I have Lymphadema in my arm and hand after breast cancer surgery. Lately I have experienced numbness in my left hand at night as my arthritis has flared up in the hand/wrist. Can I use voltaren on that hand? I wear a sleeve on the left arm. I am due for a new sleeve soon. Joss61Views0likes2CommentsLymphoedema?
Hi everyone, I’m now 3 months post Radiation therapy. After your thoughts and experiences please. Have had swelling, redness under my armpit ( had full auxiliary clearance in July 2019), also elbow has been sore as well. Just to throw another thing into the pie I broke my shoulder mid September during radiation. ( Glenoid fracture). So I’m still getting aches from my shoulder which has referred pain across to my neck and chest. My question is what sort of pain have you experienced with Lymphoedema in your arm, wanting to know what is normal and what isn’t? If there is a so called normal? Trying to figure out what is from my shoulder and what is Lymphoedema. I’m having lymphatic massages every 3 weeks, doing exercises, and swimming. Keeping as active as I can. Thank you in advance. Sending hugs xx161Views0likes6CommentsNeed suggestions for instant relief from cording
Please help. Got some small cuts on my hand. Got lymphedema - wore my compression sleeve and glove and that improved. But now got cording which is the worst it has ever been - very painful, runs down to wrist. I've been trying to raise my arm above my head to stretch it. Don't have strength to keep up massaging it myself. My Lymphedema specialist is on holidays. What else can I try? I really have had enough. Need something that will work quickly. Hi, Just wondering if anyone has purchased a lymphatic compression pump (https://www.medirent.com.au/products/compression-pumps/lx-9/ ) and if they are happy with the results? I have been using one at my physiotherapists approx once a month as part of the ongoing management of this issue but it has been suggested that it might be best for me to buy one to get better results as I could use it everyday. The cost is almost $2,000 but I can rent t for about $140 p/month to trial it and that money does come off the purchase price. Before I take the plunge though I thought I'd see if anyone else has been down this path. Thanks, Jane101Views0likes5CommentsLymphoedema Sleeves
I don't have lymphoedema but in my internet noodling today I came across these. Thought they looked rather fun. No idea if they're any good but the woman I saw wearing one has had cancer three times and seemed pretty happy with her sleeve. https://lymphedivas.com/291Views0likes17Commentscording and lymphedema
Hi all This wretched disease...I finished rads in Feb and a couple of months later, noticed my breast was hard, and the movement in my arm was a little restricted - I can't straighten it fully above my head. The rad onc said the hardness is not unusual, and my breast would soften. I've been going to a physio for the past few months with not much improvement, so yesterday went to a lymphedema physio. She's found cording in my arm, and lymphedema at the bottom of my breast. We've started treatment and my breast is softer and I feel somewhat better. I had Stage 1 BC and only 5 lymph nodes removed. Straight after treatment I was advised to go to the lymphedema education session, but told that my chances of getting it were extremely small - so going to the education session was optional. I know this is bad luck, but I can't help but feel depressed. Surgery was in Nov, and I'm still battling the after effects. On the upside, I'm taking Tamoxifen, and while it initially made my hair thin, this has stopped and I don't have any side effects. What a huge pain in the bum all of this is... Have seen a Lymphodema Massage Therapist four times since my full auxilliary clearance in March who I am very happy with, however I have moisturised, massaged and kept active using my right arm but have noticed recently that my right arm is getting thicker. Is there a difference as to the treatment you would get from a Physiotherapist for lymphodema? Wondering if I should seek a physiotherapist's advice too?101Views1like3Comments
