- wren71MemberThanks Louise, bicarb and water mouth rinse has worked a treat. Feel like I have a coating over the roof of my mouth behind my front teeth after i eat but oh well.
- Louise_JMemberBicarbonate with Himalayan Pink Salt has worked for me. 3 - 4 times per day....less red meat as well seemed to help as the acidity from the meat was bothering my mouth . ..I haven’t had an ulcer since second round of chemo thankfully. I hope the mouth ulcers go away for you and you find a good solution
- Harvey1903MemberYep - maybe just alternatively with normal. @afraser
- wren71MemberThanks @Afraser. Typical. What helps one thing causes other issues.
- wren71MemberAwesome @Harvey1903 I’ll buy that. I was actually just talking the other day about whether there was baking soda toothpaste
- AfraserMemberMaybe just use the toothpaste with caution - baking soda can whiten but can also damage enamel if used a lot direct on the teeth. The toothpaste also probably doesn't contain fluoride. It's aggravating, things that fix one problem often carry another!
- Harvey1903MemberHaven't had any mouth problems with bicarb soda, I use it at night on the many trips to the lol, rather than during the day. It gets rid of the bird cage feeling. But found this toothpaste at the supermarket today so added it to my arsenal of stuff. J
- SisterMemberI couldn't do the salt water or carb soda washes as I found the salty taste so bad. I used the Biotene mouthwash throughout chemo and never got an ulcer. One episode of oral thrush during AC which was treated quickly with Fungilin.
- wren71MemberThanks @poodlejules I’ll get some of that.
- wren71MemberThank you @Afraser I’ve found ringing with bicarbonate and water regularly has meant I use anything else a lot less. Weird but it works. :-) I hadn’t realised it was the consistency that was the trick :)
