Lymphodivas sleeves with a sale
For those who were interested in these sleeves they currently do have a sale so it might be tbe time to try one if you were wondering.
I'm not sure I am allowed to share this. I'm not selling the product just wanted to let people know they are a bit cheaper than normal.

- DandelionMemberThanks @primek, Iv phoned my physio and left a amessage to call me back in regards to a sleeve.
Thats ok I love information information the more I have the better I sleep :) and yes I have had pre measurements.
Thanks @Brenda5, if I had s sleeve I think I would be running to use it too and those ones above look pretty fancy.
oh dear @Share im sorry to hear about the bone mets , hope you doing ok sounds all so recent for you - ShareMemberHey @primek - thought I would share some info I got recently from my radiation oncologist (saw her 17th March).
Although my most recent radiation has been to my spine, rib & pelvis due to bony mets (over 12 months ago now) the radiotherapy I had when I was initially diagnosed with bc was to my breast only and the chest wall - not the armpit (this was checked and confirmed on 17th March).
My radiation oncologist said the greatest risk of developing lymphodema is radiation to the armpit area not simply radiotherapy in that area (breast, chest).
@Dandelion, was not recommended a garment following surgery or radiotherapy - had 15 lymph nodes removed (this was pre-sentinel node days). Just given exercises for arm to do several months after surgery and then during and after radiotherapy.
My original radiotherapy to my breast was in early 2004. I developed no symptoms at all of lymphodema until December 2016 - almost 13 years later.
So, hit and miss - I totally agree :# - Brenda5MemberI am now aware of exactly where my swelling starts from and I can actually feel the lymph moving under the skin when I massage. The discomfort has me running for the sleeve quick smart but I only need to wear it several hours and behave myself using that arm for a while and it comes goodo again.
- primekMember@Soldier Crab Great idea. It's more about my armpit and arm being down with me but worth a shot.
@Dandelion this might be helpful info. I don't want to scare you but better knowing than not. There is info in the My journey kit also.
https://www.bcna.org.au/health-wellbeing/physical-wellbeing/lymphoedema/ - SoldierCrabMember@primek get a stress ball for car when you are passenger every 30 mins 6 x squeezes helps to pump lymph while stationary in car OT suggested to me....
- primekMember@Dandelion. No didn't need radiation. I had 3 sentinal nodes removed but had trouble during chemo...which they said was unusual. I had breast oedema too during chemo but all gone now. I just get some fullness under my arm if sitting still like in a car. If no sleeve and no knowledge of what is happening I'm certain I'd have lymphodema. I had one day of a slightly enlarged arm which resolved with propping for 24 hours until I could see the physio. Sure did scare me. Ive been cautious since.
- DandelionMemberDid you have radiation Kath? And only the sentinel nodes removed ?
Amd still get swelling ? - primekMember@Dandelion Yes I agree. It seems to be a bit hit and miss.
- DandelionMemberThanks Kath, you would think someone medical would of told me , looks like I have found the right place . Will make call tomorrow .
- primekMember@Dandelion. Also regarding above. Lymphodema is a slightly higher risk during radiotherapy so speak to your breast care nurse or physio dept at the hospital asap to see if you should get one for radiotherapy and how to get referred. My Cancer care coordinator referred me (rural /remote) Most physio dept have basic ones in stock. Kath x
