Lymphedemia Surgery treatment
Hi
I have lymphedemia in right arm as a result of removal of lymph nodes and radiation .
I have been investigating a lymph node transplant pioneered by Dr Corinne Becker of Paris ( she is on you tube) . She has said for me to go to Paris for the operation with a breast reconstruction. She has been doing this for 20years in Europe.
i have heard that one Australian woman underwent this operation.
I also know Macquarie University Cancer Institute is offering this surgery and I intend to follow up there.
Does anyone know more on this or have information about medical treatment overseas?

That is so good to hear Barbara. What a relief for you to have things heading in the right direction at last. I hope you are resting well and continue to heal after all that you have been through.

- mum2jjMemberHave been away and just saw your post. WOW. That's amazing you have travelled to,Paris for the surgery you needed. Such a shame you couldn't have it in OZ. Did you have the lymph node transfer at the same time as your reconstruction? It sounds like you had it with either a tram flap or a DIEP? Although maybe not as you are recuperating in an apartment already. When you are feeling better would love to hear about how your breast was reconstructed at the same time. Sounds amazing. I hope you can somehow find some financial relief. Wishing you a great recovery. Paula x
