Lost taste buds

Hi, after 6 months of chemo (only 1 more to go),  my taste buds are non existing.
Nothing tastes the way they used to, I only eat  so to keep my energy levels up.,
How long does it take for our  taste buds  to come alive again....for now all food is bland and  tasteless .
