Letrozole

Hi

Following a mastectomy  and chemo I am now on Letrozole RBX started with the hot flushes and have joint pain. Now on my second pack and either the hot flushes have subsided or I am use to it? Is there anything that can be done for the joint pain? Interested to hear from anyone else on the drug....

thanks Sue

  • I was like you and had the cancer in my left boob. After lumpectomy and chemo I decided to have the right boob taken as well. I couldn't stand the thought of cancer getting that one after going through all this shite! So off with them both. My surgeon wasn't too keen on taking the right, supposedly healthy, breast as he believed there wasn't a good medical reason. Well there is a bloody good mental reason for it, I don't want to be scared the rest of my life wondering if a lump or bump I feel might be cancer. Don't get me wrong, he was very good about my decision, he just wanted to be sure I understood what I was about to do. Good luck with yours. Love Janey xxx
  • Hi

Hoping this may help you during chemo - it helped me!

Instead of sucking on ice suck on super doopers, tastes better! My husban came up with the idea cause I was having no part of the ice (it was cutting my mouth and tasted like metal)!

  • Hi

so many questions so many decisions.......

i had a mastectomy in January -left side only ..... It's always the lft side (long story...which I might explain another day...let me just say this was my 14th surgery) the surgeon said that they often do reconstruction at the same time but in my case given grade 3 cancer which covered 45% of the breast he wanted to wait at least a year. I had 2 nodes removed and 1 was not quite clear hence the chemo (OMG- now that was an experience!)..... So now I'm starting to think about reconstruction - getting a new boobie. Do you get the other one done at the same time? To make sure they match, do I bother at all? Just keep the falsie? I'm 44, so thinking a new set might be good otherwise might end up with one perky and one saggy :) .... Would love to hear what others have decided to do.....

  • Hi

Finished chemo 4 months ago and have started hormone therapy now waiting until Dec/Jan before I have any tests to ensure the cancer is gone. Is that right? It will be 1 year since diagnosis, and 6 months post chemo - I have requested a full body scan but wondering if this is normal (not that I think anything to do with breast cancer is normal)!
