last chemo tomorrow

Hello ladies, Just thought I would touch base cos it's been a while. After having done 5 cycles of FEC, D I will be having my 6th and final chemo today.. I am looking forward to that but I know the side effects will continue for a few weeks after that so it's a little bitter sweet. And those of you going through chemo can relate to the unpleasant side effects I am referring to such as furry mouth, loss of appetite, very sore finger tips, flushed burning face, headaches, etc.. just to name a few. so maybe I should write again after they have passed lol. I also want say that this web site has helped me through some tough times. Only people going through the same thing can really understand how you are feeling and what you are going through.. many times i would just read someones post and find i had all my questions answered.     Congrats, congrats, congrats. It is such a wonderful feeling to finish your chemo isn't it? I know that the side effects will hang around for a while but just that feeling of knowing no more chemo is fantastic. Well done and enjoy the elation of slowly getting your life back. What a wonderful day for you.

    Thanks Tonya, I will certainly be taking your advice with the celebration. Tomorrow lunch with friends and Friday gold class movies with my husband. And I will make the most of any other day that I feel good. By the way, i agree, they should give out medals for all we go through emotionally and physically. It's not an easy ride. Xxx

    Congrats on finishing chemo today-I hope it went ok for you.I think they should hand out medals in that oncology unit when you finish.Go ahead and celebrate tonight cos it'll be a day or two before you feel like crap.Then celebrate  in a few weeks time when you feel human again.After what we have to go through,I think maybe celebrate any time we feel like it! Hope 2013 is a happy,healthy one for you.
