Lady bits....

Hi all..
As title describes this question relates to lady parts...am awaiting approval for the private group.

For each cycle of chemo now (almost at number 4) Ive experienced on/off pain when urinating, random times, not consistent. Different to a UTI. Its more of a pain like my bits are physically changing.
I know being in menopause with the Zoladex can change my other lady bit, but I haven't read much about that part...can anyone shed some light on whether they experienced this or if chemotherapy is known to do that??
  • @youngdogmum I have heard of this before so you are certainly not on your own. As more members come online they will be able to reassure you. Sometimes the dryness will cause scratching so maybe try lubricating with something like paw paw ointment which will not harm anything.
  • Oooh I had all sorts of weird goings on Down South, both front and back. My urine had a funny chemical, almost petrol sort of odour, and I would also feel as if I needed to wee, fast, and then upon perching on the Porcelain Throne, would struggle to get things going. Then eventually, the floodgates would open, along with the whiffy smell. I would think I was finished...dry the dewdrops off my daisy, stand up to re hoist my knickers, then dribble more piddle down my legs. Around the corner (so to speak), I had this constant feeling that I had a piece of toilet paper stuck between my cheeks. I also had the problem that I found it difficult to be sure if I just had a fart on board or more. It did happen that I'd think I was just going to blow some dust, and then would end up with more than I bargained for. After that, I'd go and let rip on the loo, rather than just tilting to the side, to be sure. It did improve. Bah....fiddlesticks!!!
  • Gawd @AllyJay.
I now know why old people end so much time in toilet cubicles in public places. They are not game to get out of there until every possible exit has been evactuated. Twice.
  • Yep, chemo does some interesting things to our evacuation system.  I was walking 5km a day but it got too scary as when I needed to go, I needed to go.  My gut is still not right.  When you go back to the doc's, it's a simple test to check for UTI and it's worth getting it ruled out (pre-BC I had slight symptoms of UTI for a day - smelly & irritated - the symptoms disappeared but I ended up in hospital 2 weeks later as the infection had actually travelled up the urinary tract) but more than likely, it's just good old chemo.
  • Many thanks for everyone’s comments :) team this week agreed it’s chemo induced. If I going/smelly wee etc I will pursue UTI investigations at the time :)
  • I had issues. I needed to purchase a vaginal moisturiser whilst on chemo and shortly after. I was also prone to thrush issues. And towards end of my taxane treatment I had occasional incontinence. Intimacy was definitely more difficult due to sensation difference.
