I thought I'd gotten over the hand/wrist pain!

I had short periods when I had to pick stuff up with both hands too. That was at the beginning, while I was still on Letrozole. It is SO inconvenient! 😩

Thank goodness the pain has gone today. Let us know what your doctor prescribes for it Xxx. 

The Pain is Not so bad today, thank God!  I could even cut the toast as well as butter it today!   

Last night & this morning I took 2 x Arthrexin and will continue those today & see how I go - as the panadeine forte made me feel quite ill yesterday & Sat - as well as dizzy!

I will still see the GP this arvo tho, just to get it 'on record' .... and get my replacement scripts too ...

Yep @FLClover - I had all the big numb/tingling this morning as well, big time!!  :(   And I am USELESS at using my left hand for anything!  :(  Got to use 2 hands for picking everything up just now, so I don't drop stuff (except for holding the uke & forming the chords .... i just use the right hand to strum.) 

At least it is my right hand - I can still play uke, as it is only my strumming hand.  In the early days of my AIs ... I was put onto Prednisone and that made an amazing difference but you can't be on it for too long or your bones may be compromised!!

I’m glad you’re getting it checked! 👌🏻. I’ve also got an appointment for another strength test too, and hoping to get another shot in each wrist again. My whole hand hurts too, and I’m starting to get the tingling again, and loss of feeling ☹️☹️. 

Further investigation needed - good move having GP appointment

Thanks @FLClover - It wasn't too bad overnight, but sadly, it went excruciating again earlier this morning .... I can't even butter the toast with it!  Off to the Dr tomorrow, methinks - I have a few other things to cover as well .... scripts etc so a timely visit!

I hope yours settles down too!!  So weird we've both got it, same hand, same time - tho it is my whole hand, not just the wrist!  grrr

My wrist has been painful lately too Arpie!! It’s my right one, which is more affected than my left one. It calmed down heaps after I stopped the Letrozole and after my shots last year, plus the wrist splints I wear. Now it’s just become quite painful. I don’t know why, I haven’t changed anything for a long while. I’m hoping yours resolves soon 🤞🤞. 

Thanks @Cath62 - I hope you remain joint pain free!!  Like you, my Onc said my 'benefit' was only about 2% more protection too ..... and if I'd stayed as bad as I was when I was on Letrozole - I wouldn't have lasted the 4 years, that is for sure!! 

Changing Oncs to my current one, who listened to my concerns & actually believed my pain issues & changing from Letrozole to the other AIs early in the piece .... was the smartest thing I've done.  So this sudden regression is just horrible!

Tamoxifen has been around for decades & I know of 3 women in their 90s now, who had mastectomies back in the 80s & then had 10 years of Tamoxifen - who are still around, tho 1 has dementia now .... so that's a pretty good testament, I reckon.

I took a couple of panadeine forte this morning & noticed a marked improvement by late morning  .... I've taken one at lunch time & will take one tonight as well, then reassess my pain strategy tomorrow.  

Sorry to hear this @arpie. Bloody nuisance. I don't have the joint pain on tamoxifen. My oncologist gave me the choice of AIs or tamoxifen and when I told her all my joint issues pre bc she said tamoxifen as it only offered a 1 or 2% better protection for bc returning.However last visit even though she said to me i am basically cured 2 yes post diagnosis she still wants to talk about the possibility of AIs again. I think she will really really need to present me with a very strong argument to change from tamoxifen as with this i have not had much to deal with other than the odd hot flush or having to really watch the weight. I hope this pain for you disappears as quickly as it came along.  Hugs x

I do have side effects from Letrozole (that I know of)  - vaginal dryness and my bone density has taken a bit of a thumping. Luckily my bone density was very good when I started Letrozole so I have some wiggle room. But no aches or pains. My thumb was very uncomfortable for a while but now seems normal. Fingers crossed it lasts!
