Hair loss question

I am quite confused.

Is Paclitaxel same as Docetaxel/Taxotere? I know Docetaxel or called Taxotere causes hair loss.  I had Cyclophosphamide too but nurse said that causes hair thinning. The one causes the loss is Docetaxel/Taxotere.

By end of second cycle, most of my hair was gone. But by end of fourth cycle, I actually still have hair left on my head and my eye brows were spared too. So I did not go completely bald. Contrary to what nurse said, I lost all my armpit hair and almost all of my bikini hair (which she says usually hangs around).

@lgray3911 I had 4 FEC which is the red devil like AC but a little different, you lose your hair around the 2 week mark the same. I then did 8 Taxol, my hair did not start growing back until all treatment was finished. Most women I knew through treatment were the same, not until Taxol finished did it start and not before. Hi @lgray3911, I had 4 AC followed by 12 Taxol. My hair started to fall out after first round of AC so I shaved it. It was completely gone by the time I finished AC & it started to grow back at the end of Taxol but is very slow. I have full eyelashes & getting eyebrows but some of the ladies I was having chemo with had more hair growth than I did at the end so it is very individual.

My hair started growing back on taxol and herceptin but 2 other ladies I know remained completely bald until about 4 weeks after taxol finished then sudden rapid growth. The herceptin doesn't affect hair regrowth (nor cause loss on its own ...for most) so it's impossible to know. I couldn't go without head coverage of some kind until a few weeks after the taxol part stopped as it remained sparse at the hairline. 

Igray3911, I cant comment on ac as I'm just finishing up paclitaxil, but Im pretty bald from it after 12 weeks. Mine started shedding after the third treatment and continued to fall out. I was sick of all the hair on everything so gave myself buzz cut. Ac chemo next for me. How are you tolerating ac.

So I just had my second round of AC with 2 more to go, each 3 weeks apart. Then only 12 weeks of weekly treatment. My hair fell out by Day 16 as my oncologist said it would. So my question is..... is it the drug combo in the AC that causes hair loss? Does that mean my hair starts to grow back during the weekly treatments or does that combo also lead to hair loss?? This is my weekly combo drugs. Xx
