Fatigue

I'm just wondering how everyone manages their fatigue. Mine is seeming to be getting worst. Today my legs are that heavy I'm surprised I'm able to walk. Does it keep getting worst the more chemo you have. I'm that bad today by 1pm I crawled into bed and have been there ever since.

  • Good girl, way to go Ness.  I hope you can get some rest sweety.  As I found out some exercise is good for fatigue believe it or not.  It gets the endorphins groovin..

I am post my treatment now and have a full cancer free body so I am going to push myself back in to exercise.  Joined Curves and going to do some hydro pool sessions.

It has taken me a while to be in the right frame of mind to want to exercise as have had a few hiccups along the way but hopefully I will get my mojo back soon and move some of the weight.  I was doing well before Xmas but then had a setback so hopefully I can stay on track now.

I so glad you are getting some time for you.  Glad you have got that family support happenin.

    Mich xoxo

  • No I don't work at the moment. But I have 2 small kids. I've been talking to my mum and sister and they are going to take the girls on the days they aren't in child care and my hubby is at work. I'm going to start just having small walks around my yard, start small. Thanks Vanessa xx
  • Hey sweety

Yes unfortunately fatigue is a part of our journey.  I got out my chemo journal and have read back thru it for you and my fatigue pretty much started straight away.  But there are good days but they are days when you try to pace yourself so you don't over do it mmmmmmmmmm  Try not to fight it cause that doesn't help your head space to deal with it.  Just ride with it.  When your body says gotta just gotta lay down got with it.  Then when you have rested and feel a bit okay get up and do a little if you can but if not go lay down again.  That is how my days were.  Some days I was so full of energy and bouncing off the walls and others days not so good.

Are you working?  Are you able to do just a lil gentle exercise when you can. If you can rest then rest but eating well, drinking lots of fluids of any sort (custard is a fluid and so is yoghurt), and genle gentle exercise, even walking to the letterbox and back.

Fatigue is a tough one but you do get thru it so hang in there kiddo.

    Lots of love, Mich xoxoxo
