hi @Trikki2
i did FEC-D (3+3) and finished in march. i had some of the side effects that are listed for docetaxal, but not all and i tolerated it quite well considering.
bone pain was the main side effect for me too with docetaxal - like kmakm just for a few days after the infusion - but i did find it manageable with a bit of a routine. i used meditation (i found an app that had a visualisation for pain), magnesium baths and spray/roll-on and hot wheat pack (my onc was happy with me using these) plus panadol. i was also presribed endone for when the pain peaked on the 2nd & 3rd infusion. i didn't need to take more than 1 endone at a time.
i found that fatigue accumulated through docetaxal. again, this was manageable if i slowed down a bit as i got out of breathe easily. and sometimes i needed to make a decision to not do too much in one day to save my energy for the next.
i had some slight changes to taste, but nothing major at all (some things tasted a little salty). i was pleased that i was still able to enjoy my coffee as I'd been told me it would taste different! i followed the regime that my onc & nurse advised re. steroids, mouth wash etc and had no real problems with my mouth. i lost my appetite for 'healthy' foods, so i just did the best i could to eat well and didn't stress if i didn't
i did morning walks throughout treatment. not every day, just when i could, and towards the end they were shorter and slower. i really found that this helped with bone pain and fatigue (although i didn't do any walks after taking endone! :D as i used to fall asleep when i took it).
i hope this helps. i found it really scary moving on from the 'known" of FEC to Docetaxal. when i was in the midst of treatment a lovely woman who'd also had FEC-D said to me "this time will pass" and it did.
go well. i'll be thinking of you!
