Some technical advice. There is a thing called a squatty potty, which is basically an overpriced foot stool that you put in front of the bog to change your position when trying to empty your bowels. It is a 'thing' and getting your knees up closer to your ears does make a difference. You can improvise--there's a use for those old encyclopedia that cost so much you can't bear to throw them out.
The other thing I found useful was a spoonful of very good quality coconut oil every day. I modified mine with Aunty Marg's herbal remedy (which I'm not supposed to talk about) so it also helped me sleep. I used to take it at night when I was getting up for the first of the multiple pees you have to have when you've drunk three litres of water before bed and it seemed to help things get moving in the morning.
Hang in there, this stuff is revolting. Margxx

- nikovMembersince using it, I've found that I really get everything out and I don't get up feeling like I only got half of it out, if that makes sense.Sign in to react to this post

Xx Trikki2Sign in to react to this post - nikovMemberI was blessed with both during treatment. Diarreah and Constipation, for the Diarreah I has to take Gastrostop and fluids. Constipation I did yoga, walking and fluids. Doesn't look like I had it as bad as some of the other ladies though. Also, consider getting a poop stool!! Will help with getting everything out and I mean EVERYTHING :DSign in to react to this post
- kmakmMember@Sister is right @Trikki2. I was both in my first round of chemo. Then set like concrete...Sign in to react to this post
- SisterMemberJust be aware @Trikki2 You might be constipated this treatment and have diarrhoea the next. Or you might be blessed with both in the same treatment!Sign in to react to this post
- RomlaMemberYes -you can increase dosage if necessary .Its used a lot in Nursing Homes for bedridden patients .I’ve tried just about everything over many years , been hospitalised twice with it and even had to use enemas / suppositories - nothing has come near Movicol to gently , quickly and effectively solve the problem but best not to get in the spot in first place as is awful.By the sounds of it you may need to be extra vigilant during treatment with your diet . Hoping this resolve quickly.Sign in to react to this post
