Arimidex
I have been reading through the blogs about Arimidex and found them very interesting. I have been on Arimidex for 6 months and up until 4 weeks ago, "side affects free" - until now that is.
I now have what appears to be the usual aches and pains in the legs and numbness in the hands, tiredness and headaches, so I guess I didn't escape at all I am just like all my other Arimidex sisters.
I will have to mention this to my oc next visit, but as so many others have said before at least I am here reading the experiences of others. It does help.

Hi Chris,
Hope you are loving life in your new home! I was interested in the trigger finger bit - my finger joints sometimes 'lock' and I need to physically hold them and bend them & give them a rub. Presumably that's what you meant? Also now I'm onto looking up the De Quervaines bit as I have had extremely painful base joint on one thumb & the other is starting too. Doc just said it was arthritis but it seems too 'sharp' painful and kind of came on reasonably quickly. So, yet again you havebeen the sorce of some mystery solving.....thought of becoming a consultant?
xxx Sue

Hi Chris,
I never had any problems with my feet or heels before the Arimidex, but I am kind of use to it, as it goes away after walking , naturally, it comes back once I have had a rest. Anyway, I have also experienced and still happens , just not everyday, the trigger fingers and De Quervaines, and it is extremely painful .
Learning to live with it helps me, by telling and reminding myself that it is the , ARIMIDEX.
thank you so much ,
hugs

I have had this a few times, even before Femara, and it takes ages to get better. Mine are kept at bay now with wearing moulded Dr Scholl thongs or orthotics. Bare feet and flat shoes can really aggrevate it. I think the femara and arimidex play havoc with tendons, as I have had trigger fingers and De Quervaines syndrome as well. (This is extreme pain in the base of the thumb and into the wrist) I had to wear splints and have physio for this, but it did get better after about 10 months. Hope you all find relief for these side effects. I do believe that fish oil and krill may help, as it helped me, but we are all different. Good luck. Love Chris xxSign in to react to this post

Hi all,
My knees are very sore so it's hard to get up & down. I struggled to get to my seat at a Suzi Quatro concert last Tuesday but when dancing I was fine if I kept my legs straight.
So I was able to move quite freely but when I tried to sit down I was in pain & didn't realise for a while that the seat was lifted, just as well I found out before sitting or I'd have been on the floor in pain while the others around me laughed!!!
Sign in to react to this post Hi Debbie, Nice to hear from you. I had a double masectomy last year and was able to go off Arimidex. I was in a lot of pain when I was on it but I am still experienceing pain since then. I am allergic to a lot of painkillers so I try to manage as best I can. I have plantar facitis in my right foot and it is extremely painful but I also find that I cannot stand for long and at times both feet get very sore. I also had Ross River Fever like Bella years ago and interested in the celery tablets as I have heard that celery is good for arthritis. All the best in your journey and I hope you find some relief. Love, Ruth

I haven't been in touch on this site for a while as I have been away so it is nice to read that everyone is still in contact and supporting each other. You will enjoy the interaction Debbie, it's both interesting and comforting! Cheers to all! Love Kim xxSign in to react to this post
