Arimidex
I have been reading through the blogs about Arimidex and found them very interesting. I have been on Arimidex for 6 months and up until 4 weeks ago, "side affects free" - until now that is.
I now have what appears to be the usual aches and pains in the legs and numbness in the hands, tiredness and headaches, so I guess I didn't escape at all I am just like all my other Arimidex sisters.
I will have to mention this to my oc next visit, but as so many others have said before at least I am here reading the experiences of others. It does help.

Thanks Finita and Kathleen, Thanks girls. Since my diagnosis, I have a greater appreciation of life and a faith in God. I grew up in a J.W. Family and because I disagreed with their teachings and disassociated myself, I was excommunicated from my Family. I love them dearly and it hurts to have no contact with them. The only way that they'll talk to me again is if I went back to the religion which I am not prepared to do as I don't want to be a hypocrite. To me that is not love but control. I am sorry that you have no contact with your other Sister, Kathleen. It's a time when you need your Family. The fluid has built up on my wound site and I have to have it drained again. All the best to you both. Love Ruth xxx

Hi Viv,
I am also sorry to hear about your neighbours , how truly pathetic and cold blooded creatures they have turned out to be . Honestly, you poor darling, going through as much as you have . I tell you what I told Ruth and all the other bcna sisters...to hell with them...we don't need them. Be strong and happy because life is precious and we musnt; let idiots spoil it for us .

Hi Viv,
It's good to vent! You've obviously been through a great deal already. Some people have no idea at all do they - as you say...do they have ANY idea what led you to your "free boob job". I could just scream when I hear that sort of remark. And as for your friends across the road; all I can think of, is they just don't know how to cope, what to say, so they choose avoidance. And yes...self-absorbed. It always amuses me when I hear people make a remark about "normal". Normal went out the window the day we were diagnosed. I just dont even bother most of the time now; my aches & pains, weight gain, high cholesterol, self doubt, crying jags, interspersed with very happy days, fear of the cancer returning; when people ask (and they really DONT want an honest reply), I just say life is never the same, but at least I'm here to talk about it. They then move on to the next really important thing like who won My Kitchen Rules, or who is on the Voice, or some such other stuff (can you detect my sarcasm here :)).
Be kind to yourself, and vent whenever you want to :)
Love, Bella x

I went over to Adelaide a while ago to be part of an extended family celebration. I could tell my cousin , the one closest to my age, was plucking up the courage to talk to me all afternoon. When he finally did, the words were; "so what caused the cancer then?" Some people really have no understanding at all. And I have 2 sisters-one who is in touch daily, finding out how I am, she came and stayed with me for both my mastectomies-the other sister I never hear from....ever! Great, isn't it?! No wonder we become depressed, worried, can't sleep, go over the past etc. Please come join my depression and anxiety group. I started it 4am one morning when I was lying awake worrying about things. We can talk to each other on here-it helps a lot. The fact is, some try and help, but really have no idea what we're going through, they simply don't understand. You have a lot of like-minded girls on here! Take care Love from Kathleen xxooSign in to react to this post
