It's good to vent! You've obviously been through a great deal already. Some people have no idea at all do they - as you say...do they have ANY idea what led you to your "free boob job". I could just scream when I hear that sort of remark. And as for your friends across the road; all I can think of, is they just don't know how to cope, what to say, so they choose avoidance. And yes...self-absorbed. It always amuses me when I hear people make a remark about "normal". Normal went out the window the day we were diagnosed. I just dont even bother most of the time now; my aches & pains, weight gain, high cholesterol, self doubt, crying jags, interspersed with very happy days, fear of the cancer returning; when people ask (and they really DONT want an honest reply), I just say life is never the same, but at least I'm here to talk about it. They then move on to the next really important thing like who won My Kitchen Rules, or who is on the Voice, or some such other stuff (can you detect my sarcasm here :)).
Be kind to yourself, and vent whenever you want to :)
