Arimidex
I have been reading through the blogs about Arimidex and found them very interesting. I have been on Arimidex for 6 months and up until 4 weeks ago, "side affects free" - until now that is.
I now have what appears to be the usual aches and pains in the legs and numbness in the hands, tiredness and headaches, so I guess I didn't escape at all I am just like all my other Arimidex sisters.
I will have to mention this to my oc next visit, but as so many others have said before at least I am here reading the experiences of others. It does help.

I teach an Encore class now which is exercise based but also gives ladies the opportunity to really connect with others who have experienced breast cancer. There is no doubt that it changes your outlook on life - most women who have had breast cancer no longer take any crap on in their lives that they don't want in there! It's not such a bad thing!
Good luck and best wishes to everyone who is having tests and surgery - I have just been given another reprieve and I'm at 4 years post op (nearly). The cysts are a pain - they seem to panic and want to biopsy anything new and I am like you ladies; I have accepted that I will be overly anxious at checks forever!
Take care
Kim :-)

I'm going through a bit of a low patch, which on turn, affects my back-makes it stiff wit pain. Anyway, off to myotherapist tomorrow, after nanna day with grandson, which I'm looking forward to. Take care & keep in touch Kind regards and hugs Kathleen xxSign in to react to this post

Hi to all you beautiful ladies,
today I saw my surgeon and he requested that I have an U/S and a core needle biopsy in 3 months time. It is to check on what appears to be a region of 8.5mm of entrapped glandular tissues ...not a cyst or a mass, so we will just have to wait and see , and in the meantime I will just enjoy my time off by clearing my very sad looking garden .
Thank you all for your wonderful support and will be back with my future results ,
Hugs Finita xxxxxxxxxxx
Sign in to react to this post Thanks Pollyanne58. Yes, it's a good thing we have learned from having cancer. It has made us stronger, given us a connection and taught us not to take live for granted and to enjoy each and every day. I have survived for 14 years and I am so greatful that I have seen my Grand-Children grow up. My oldest Grand-Daughter is going to university and it gives me such pleasure to see her doing something positive with her life.

I just bought a sticker to put on my 5th wheeler motorhome, it says " fight like a girl" and has the pink ribbon which scrolls through the writing. It is very true. We girls are tough and ready to face anything. Stay positive and hang in there. XxSign in to react to this post

Thanks for the support. I am at peace with the decision and know that the time is right. There was always the worry until the mammagram and ultrasound was okay but the lump was always on my mind. I can't wait to have it over and done with now. I also have bilateral hydronephrosis and and waiting to have a stent put in so hoping that is done first as the swelling is terrible. <3 <3

In reply to your post Bella, I have been on Arimidex for about 8 years or more. I have had side affects with it but was reluctant to go off it because I have the braca 2 gene. I saw the Surgeon on Monday and he recommended that I have a double masectomy which I am having in the next 3 Months. When I saw the Breast Nurse she told me that I should be having a bone density tests every 2 years which I wasn't told about before. I am so hoping and praying that I can stop taking Arimidex. The Surgeon said that there will be some breast tissue left but it is unlikely to cause any problems. I have a lump on my right Breast that has been a bit of a worry and as the Surgeon said it is harder to treat the second time. I am now ready to go ahead with the surgery.

Hi kim,
I know the feeling too as I also had a FNA and nothing showed and I did not have it removed .
At least you are having it checked and that can only be good . So cheer up and hope for the best. !!
When I had my FNA the radiologist told me that I better get used to having FNAs because it was very common,
for those of us that did not have a mastactomy ! I was not amused at the time but he was right .
Best of luck with your FNA
finita xxxxx
