In reply to your post Bella, I have been on Arimidex for about 8 years or more. I have had side affects with it but was reluctant to go off it because I have the braca 2 gene. I saw the Surgeon on Monday and he recommended that I have a double masectomy which I am having in the next 3 Months. When I saw the Breast Nurse she told me that I should be having a bone density tests every 2 years which I wasn't told about before. I am so hoping and praying that I can stop taking Arimidex. The Surgeon said that there will be some breast tissue left but it is unlikely to cause any problems. I have a lump on my right Breast that has been a bit of a worry and as the Surgeon said it is harder to treat the second time. I am now ready to go ahead with the surgery.
