@arpie, the shingles vaccine is called Zostervax - would imagine it's a dead virus but best to check it out.  It's about $250 but used to be twice that!  Works out about $36 a year.  I believe it's really worth every cent.

In a way, that is good, @Cate64  as you definitely got onto it quicker!  ;)    Hopefully you'll be able to get it under control and dry it up & stop the pain sooner too.  xxx

@Michelle_R   I'm not sure I was aware there was a shingles vaccine!! Is it a live one or a dead one?

Hope you are feeling better Cate - shingles is a rough ride!  My husband and I both have the shingles vaccine - it lasts about 7 years.

Goodness me Cate that is not what you need!  Have to wonder sometimes why these things happen but anyhow here's hoping you're onto it early and the discomfort dissipates.
