Tamoxifin

Question

Hello again,My oncologist took me off the letrazole due to the bad effect it had on my hands - to the point I couldn't use it.&nbsp; I tried Curcumin as suggested by some of the ladies, unfortunately it didn't help.&nbsp; Fighting an uphill battle I guess.I have now been prescribed Tamoxifin.&nbsp; Has any one had major side effects?&nbsp; I have read the brochure and seen the warnings, but getting information from the "horse's mouth" is invariable more useful.Thanks

I’m one of the lucky ones who has no side effects at all from Tamoxifen. Hope it’s the same for you.

I take mine at night, I haven't had any side effects :smile:

@kezmusc has unfortunately had a horror time with this drug. I have been on it for 6 weeks now and the only problem I have is sleep disturbance, hot flushes maybe 5 times a day and some joint pain but I already have arthritis so it’s not much worse. I have started taking melatonin each night to help me sleep and that is helping. Good luck with it @AT404 xox

Thanks Kiwi Angel,I have had arthritis for some years, and the Letrazole made it worse.&nbsp; The oncologist said that Tamoxifin will have a lessor effect.&nbsp; Other than the hot flushes (and I was having those anyway) which were worse on Letrazole, I only felt tired.&nbsp; So hope this one will be better.

Tamoxifen can give you hot flushes but they abate over time. &nbsp;I seemed to get more angry when I first took it. This is not a recognised side effect. &nbsp;This also passed in time. &nbsp;At the 18 month &nbsp; stage I got leg cramps and took magnesium for that. &nbsp;Might not have been the tamoxifen because &nbsp;I take other medication that can interfere with magnesium absorption. &nbsp;I didn’t hate taking tamoxifen. &nbsp;Good luck. &nbsp;Many women take it and cope ok. &nbsp;
