Tamoxifen and blurred vision
ive only been on Tamoxifen for six weeks but have noticed my vision getting increasingly blurred. Do you think the tamoxifen would have anything to do with that? I do have high blood pressure which I take medication for and I’m a type 2 diabetic which is well controlled with diet and medication. The blurriness has only become worse in the past couple of weeks and I feel like I’m looking at things through a fog. I have made N appointment with my optometrist who knows me well for next Friday and am seeing GP on Monday so will mention it to him. I have radio oncology appt on Wednesday also so will also ask them if they think it may be a side effect but has anyone else encountered this at all? Lesley

- Thanks @primek, @nonkyboy it was me who has had a local recurrence, however mine was in my lumpectomy scar undetectable and I was at my 4yr checkup. It would be very unusual to have appeared this quick and after radiation. Let us know how it goes, I know how daunting it all it is, so 1 minute at a time. Hugs Melinda xo
- Thanks girls, I’m really starting to hate Merry Go Rounds . Thanks @primek I couldn’t recall the name. I didn’t think to ask them to put me on the cancellation list but will call tomorrow and ask them to do that. @Afraser I will pray for a babushka too lol
- Oh no...back on the fear and waiting merry go round.@melclarity is the lady who regularly contributes who had local recurrence but not as soon.
So hoping for you it is just some other annoying lump that is not bc related. Keep us posted and hope a cancellation comes up for a sooner ultrasound. - Hi @nonkyboy
Oh, I am sorry to read you did not get any great answers today and the waiting game continues for you. Please know that you are in our thoughts. It is good that your medicos are taking it seriously and acting accordingly.
Please keep in touch. Thinking of you. - Seromas are the pits!! While massaging my seroma, my lymphoedema therapist said, "You know there is a lump there?". No I didn't (me and lumps aren't good either!). So off to my surgeon - yes, he could feel it too, smooth, hard, a definite lump but he didn't know what it was. So at five minutes to five, off to the ultrasound technician to see if she would kindly have a look then and there. On the couch, rev up the machine. "Yes" she said cheerfully, "It's a seroma". Duh, I thought of course it is, but what's the lump?? "It's a seroma", she explained patiently. "It's a seroma inside the seroma". I had babushka seromas!! You know, the little painted, nested Russian dolls! Who knew it was even possible? I hope you have good news and something that's only silly. Best wishes.

- I saw the rad oncologist this morning. While examining me he found a new lump in the same breast. I had felt it but as it’s close to my seroma I put it down to being part of that. Anyway he said it’s not and that I would be very unlucky to find it as cancerous six weeks after radiation but that it doesn’t feel good to him. He thinks it’s too far from the scar to be scar tissue. He is sending me for an ultrasound followed by a fine needle biopsy if they think it looks suspicious. I can’t get in until the 9th and that’s only for the ultrasound d so will have to be patient. I have to see him in two weeks and he asked for the medical oncologist appointment to be brought forward for two weeks time as well. He said to stay off the tamoxifen u til I go back to see if my symptoms improve which I will do. I know someone else on here had a recurrence in the same breast but can’t remember who it was. I’m praying this isn’t a recurrence and that it is just scar tissue.
