Letrazole side effects

I’ve been on Letrozole for over nine years - after about a year my hair shedding pattern changed (from almost nothing to pretty normal) - other than that I have had no problems with hair at all, and the shedding change is more likely to have been a long term side effect of chemo. I have mostly kept to the new weight I had after chemo ( I lost weight on chemo) but any fluctuations are probably due to changes in exercise patterns (no gym for long slabs because of COVID) or just being careless with carbs, rather than Letrozole. i have been on Letrazole and then another AI ( aromosin) for 18 months.
My hair is good and I have kept off the weight I lost after my diagnosis (10 kilos).
I am careful with my diet and follow an exercise programme .
The exercise seems to help with joint pain and also mentally too.
See how you go with side effects , they are mild for many so don’t over think it.
On the other hand let your oncologist know if you do suffer side effects.

I'm due to start letrozole is hairloss and weigh gain a commen side effect and how much weight gain are we talking.
Are people benefiting from excersise if so what are people doing to ease joint pain.
What about herbal tablets to ease joint pain.

Good idea @Locksley  One of the things I have noticed as I've gone on with Letrozole is that it is really easy to injure myself, often doing nothing in particular.  I have had a twinge in my knee just from walking upstairs and then found it's gotten worse and caused significant pain for weeks before healing.  So, it is possible that you have just injured your wrist and it's going to take some time to repair.  Crap, I know, but that's the sort of thing that oestrogen protects us from.  As my onc says, people don't realise that a tiny little pill can have such a major effect on the body.  Anyway, have the painkillers and get it checked out - all the best.

I rang my breast care nurse she said it’s cause of the injection I get for bones 

@Not_good_63_57 sorry to hear about your bad pains.  That is good to hear your cancer hasn't spread.

Thankyou everyone.  I will keep a note of symptoms.  Will have some panadol and book on with gp for a check.

Ouch on the bad pains in the legs but good to read that your scans suggested that it has not spread, stayed the same, treatment doing it's work and hopefully you will improve more.  I have suffered and still do, pains in the bones in the legs which is a side effect of Letrozole and now Tamoxifen

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome - numbness, tingling, shooting pain - these are the symptoms my hubby had prior to surgery

Regardless you should get it checked out as suggested by others
