Arimidex and dizziness

Hello lovely ladies, I started taking Arimidex three weeks ago.  This week I've had several bouts of dizziness, yesterday evening a particularly bad bout. Has anyone else suffered from this?  The room spins and I start to feel nauseous, it lasted a couple of hours until I fell asleep and today I'm still dizzy but not quite  as bad.  I'm getting my old friend the hot flushes back again. The ones I had said good riddance to after menopause .  My head feels full of fog.  I'm going on holidays on Monday for three weeks .  I'm starting to worry.  Advice please . Xxxxx

  • @Finch, I been on arimadex for 8 months now. My brain is total fog and can't remember anything. Joints all stiff and feels unbearable.  Enjoy your holiday without this shit.
I don't see myself taking this for 5 years.
  • You could get a pill cutter and just try half dose while on holidays?

  • Agree with the two ladies above.  I'd just stop it till you got home.  No point going on holiday if you feel like shit.

  • @Finch
In responding to your question it also occurred to me how much it sucks having to ask permission from medical professionals all the effing time!

I have to say that if I were in your shoes I would take a three week break and enjoy the holiday xx
  • Hi @Vangirl thanks so much for replying. It's a bit late for me to contact my oncologist as I fly out Monday morning and we leave the house tomorrow.  I'm packing at the moment and I feel slightly dizzy but I can function, I'm not like I was last night. I may take the decision to come off it myself.  This holiday is important to me and what I've focused on since chemo. Golly, I was hoping to be over it all by now and heading for smooth sailing.
All the best for your surgery. You take care xxx
  • Hi @Finch, most definitely had the brain fog on Letrozole, which apparently has the same chemical structure as anastrozole (Arimidex). Also slightly dizzy but not to the degree that you describe.

I started on Letrozole a couple of weeks ago and it was so horrible that I have been given a temporary reprieve until after my surgery. Is it possible your oncologist would approve you taking a break and restarting after your holiday?
