Well, back from my overseas holiday and what was supposed to be a break in between chemo treatments has created more problems!
A month in italy with 12 family members started off ok for the first week and then took a turn for the worst. 6 out of the 12 of us had all their luggage stolen and left with only the clothes they were standing in! This meant quite a few days were wasted shopping for clothes and organising emergency passports.Things settled down for a week or so and then I fell over quite heavily on an ironstone footpath and took the skin off my hands, elbows and knees. One knee was injured quite badly and for the remaining 3 weeks I took painkillers and needed assistance to walk.
I arrived back home last weekend and had an MRI straight away which confirmed that I had indeed done damage to my knee and had been walking around with a fractured kneecap!!!!! I am now waiting to see an orthopedic surgeon next week to see if surgery is necessary, but am on crutches and have a leg splint on for at least 6 weeks!
I also started my next lot of chemo (taxol) this week and will continue this weekly for the next 11 weeks. Luckily it is easier than the FEC chemo and the first dose went fine and have had hardly any side effects.
Just want this year to be over with! Maybe next year will be my year!!!!!!!
