Aching legs
Hello ladies!!!I I was wondering if anyone on Tamoxifen has experienced aching calf muscles during the night. Almost like a cramp? I haven't changed anything else,so can't work out what it would be from. Thanks in advance for any replies! Cheers xox Robyn

- CarolMemberThanks ladies for your extensive comments on this topic. Like many of you I have had cramps off and on for 2 decades. I know that like my knee which has a metal plate and screws in it if i get cold knee aches and more likely to get cramps which were much worse for the fjrst year or two on Arimidex (up to 8 years) My solution is to always wear sox much to my ex husbands disgust but at least it helps somewhat. Now i am also going to try to get some magnesium Re iodine. I have a thyroid function.....blood test each year when i get my annual checks done but never done a urine one so again will ask gp for this in spring. Re lower back ache. After a nuclear scan and expensive MRI the conclusion is that at 58, it just is degenerative changes consistent with my age so just put up with it. Don't want to start on arthritis drugs anyway because one caused issues with my lymphoedema. Oh well it certainly is much much better than the secondary I feared I had! Your pink sister, Carol

My doctor has ordered most of the same tests for me - the only one missing is the urine test for iodine. I didn't think she was taking my "aching legs syndrome" seriously but it looks like she is investigating it after all. I'm so pleased some of you have had some relief - I look forward to it.

Hi Robyn,
My naturopath ordered the following bloods;
Vitamin D
FBC
Serum Zinc
Serum Copper
Red Cell Folate
Vitamin B12
Iron Studies
She has also asked me to have a urine test for iodine.
Her work has made a definite difference in my life.
Helen.
- Robyn_WMemberI hope it continues like this.I can relate to the cranky stuff! My husband often says I am a bit touchy! I think that's his nice word for very cranky!I just blame it on the Tamoxifen!!!!:)Hope things keep going well for you.Keep in touch! xoxRobyn
- Like you I have suffered with a sore neck for some time now & I got used to it as well & didn't think much of it!!!!! Well that was until I was in surgery having my op & they took the tube out of my mouth to get me ready for recovery & I stopped breathing, so they had to quickly put the tube back in & I think they handled my neck quite roughly as you could imagine.... My neck was so sore & hasn't been the same since,I was a mess & the physio wouldn't even touch it... So my GP sent me for a CT scan & it showed a displacement in the C3 on C4 which probably could be fixed with the right physio BUT my scan also showed I have severe right sided facet joint arthropathy with small osteophytes forming which is not good... So they did a guided CT corticosteroid injection which I'm never having again because it was so nerve racking & it didn't work:(:( So thats when my doctor put me on Celebrex, which I hate because it can cause ulcers in your tummy...I only take it when I can't handle the pain & it doesn't seem to take the pain away completely, it is nerve pain which is hard to tackle...I'm lucky in a way because I have a high pain threshold & I just solider on.... So now my GP has referred me to the neurosurgery clinic to have an MRI.. So if it wasn't for breast cancer I would not of known my neck was so bad & I wouldn't of known about the sleep apnea which caused me to stop breathing in the first place.... I'm a bit scared of what the bone density scan is going show...... So Robyn, I hope I haven't bored you & I really think it is a good idea to mention your neck problems to your onco or even your GP because there are so many different types of bone disease out there & it's best to deal with it sooner than later...take care:) Christine:)xox

Hope you legs remain restful instead of restless:) Magnesium is still working for me, fingers crossed. I have been on my anastrozole for 18 days now, haven't noticed any side effects, maybe a little cranky according to my partner:), but nothing outstanding. Might cross my fingers for that too:) Take care,
Hazel xx
- Robyn_WMemberIt's so easy to get a bit off track isn't it?The best way for me to monitor my water Intake is just to fill a 2 litre jug .And the pharmacist reminded me that if you don't drink it slowly over the course of a day,and instead just drink a whole glass really quickly, well then your body won't absorb it as well, you will just spend more time running to the loo!!!!Cheers Robynxox
