Like you I have suffered with a sore neck for some time now & I got used to it as well & didn't think much of it!!!!! Well that was until I was in surgery having my op & they took the tube out of my mouth to get me ready for recovery & I stopped breathing, so they had to quickly put the tube back in & I think they handled my neck quite roughly as you could imagine....
My neck was so sore & hasn't been the same since,I was a mess & the physio wouldn't even touch it...
So my GP sent me for a CT scan & it showed a displacement in the C3 on C4 which probably could be fixed with the right physio BUT my scan also showed I have severe right sided facet joint arthropathy with small osteophytes forming which is not good... So they did a guided CT corticosteroid injection which I'm never having again because it was so nerve racking & it didn't work:(:(
So thats when my doctor put me on Celebrex, which I hate because it can cause ulcers in your tummy...I only take it when I can't handle the pain & it doesn't seem to take the pain away completely, it is nerve pain which is hard to tackle...I'm lucky in a way because I have a high pain threshold & I just solider on....
So now my GP has referred me to the neurosurgery clinic to have an MRI..
So if it wasn't for breast cancer I would not of known my neck was so bad & I wouldn't of known about the sleep apnea which caused me to stop breathing in the first place....
I'm a bit scared of what the bone density scan is going show......
So Robyn, I hope I haven't bored you & I really think it is a good idea to mention your neck problems to your onco or even your GP because there are so many different types of bone disease out there & it's best to deal with it sooner than later...take care:)
