Aches and Letrozole
I've suffered from fluid retention since the last Taxol and it gives me aching legs towards the latter part of the day. I started taking Letrozole about 3 weeks after chemo so have been on it for 4 weeks now. I'm still getting the aching legs (and still have the oedema). I am wondering if it's that or pain from the Letrozole. Everyone seems to indicate that the drug gives them aching joints in the morning - mine is not centred on the joints but the whole leg and it's later in the day (although, bizarrely, the soles of my feet are sore at the heel when I get out of bed). Has anyone experienced this from Letrozole? I'll be seeing the onc on Thursday but any info from other's experiences would be appreciated.

- Im off letrozole after 4 years but l did find magnesium tabs helped immensley l just kept upping the dose till it improved

- I got the onc to sign off the reg papers, yesterday. So, Encore, here I come - worrying about the logistics later.

I dislike taking paracetemol every day as well. I checked again with my GP that it was OK to take it frequently and regularly and she said yes. - Saw my oncologist yesterday - lovely man. He said that the leg aches sound like post-chemo stuff rather than the Letrozole and it's going to take a while for the taxol to work it's way out of my system. He said there's not much that can be done for the fluid retention (and that will be exacerbating the aching legs) but that getting back to strength with activity should sort it out. He's given me the okay to take panadol as needed (I really don't like taking stuff like that every day) and I see him again in 8 weeks. On the plus side, my bone density test came back as good, measured against my age and younger (whatever that means).

- @sister ask your onc about taking some frudix - I took it for 2 weeks and it sorted out my chemo odema and I haven’t had any problems since xo
- @Sister I have been been on Letrozole now 13 months - joint pain yes oedema no so may be lingering from chemo.Btw I have tended to have oedema most of my life in lower legs esp in warmer weather - drinking a lot of liquid oddly enough helps as does walking.Celery is good too in season but be careful with diuretics natural or otherwise as they hurt my kidneys.
