3 weeks off Letrozol

I am on holidays in Calgary, Canada from Australia.
i packed all my husbands and myself medications except i forgot to pack my Letrozol for the three weeks I am away.
so I will miss taking it, I know this is not good, is it going to make too much difference or should I go to a Dr over here and get a script, and would he give me one ?
I just don’t know what to do

  • Thank you for your suggestions, I will call my Dr on Monday Australia time to check, that should be the end of my worrying.
  • Hi LynJoan. Could you email your doctor and check maybe? That might set your mind at ease and that way you could enjoy your fabulous holiday.

I'm having a Letrozole holiday for the whole of December, with my oncologist's blessing. Obviously we're all different and your doctor might have a different opinion as regards to you, but as @Afraser said, there are many people here who take breaks from their AIs. It doesn't seem to be a big thing. I'd check via email or sms to be on the safe side. K xox
  • You could try a doctor, but without any proof you have already been prescribed it, it's a big ask! To be honest, there is not much you can do - it's a hiccup, but others have had time out from letrozole, so it's not the sort of thing you are going to fly home immediately about! So best to relax, accept it's a temporary problem and enjoy Calgary, it's a really interesting place.
