Job interview tomorrow

Hi all Just wondering if anyone else has gone for a job interview whilst still having treatment and do you believe that it affected your chances of getting the job? I am off for an interview tomorrow. I wasn't actively looking for another job but stumbled across an ad that felt like it had been written especially for me. As with all of us, bc has made me reevaluate my life and what I want in life. I'm so excited but trying very hard to curb the excitement as I am fearful they will overlook me because of the bc. I only have 4 more months of herceptin so I'm hoping they will be able to get past it. I would love to hear from anyone else who has been in this situation. Thanks. Karen xox

  • I always think honesty is the best policy! Go for it, wishing you the very best of luck x
  • Hi Robyn, my hair is still really short but I could always wear my wig. The problem is I need a day off every 3 weeks for another 4 months so that I can complete treatment so I don't think it would be very fair to them to not let them know at the interview stage. Aside from the bc stuff I think I'm in with a really good chance. I'm going be honest and hope that my experience and my enthusiasm for their industry will get me through. Thanks for the reply. • This hasn't happened to me,but there was a lady on here some time ago now,and she didn't tell them about the BC.Her hair was short, but not obviously because of chemo.Has your hair started to grow back? Her way of thinking was,get the job first, and then perhaps tell them a little later, once she had proven herself! Whatever happens, good luck, and let us know how you get on! xxxRobyn
