Great weather, NOT...

Well, arrived here safely and was greeted by nasty wet cold weather. Kind of appropriate, suits my mood.

Spent time with my dad last night, he isn't there anymore, just seems like a shell on a bed. This is so hard. Tried to get him to respond but nothing. It has been happening for a while, getting more and more sick but I thought I would at least get to talk with him. Maybe today will be a better day.

My brother and sister turned up and have made it all a big &^%$# drama circus. Why can't they act with a bit of dignity and grace, it's not about them...why can't they spend the last chance saying goodbye and leave the rest of it out of it?

Sorry, just feeling really down and unhappy. Thank you all for the thoughts of support and kindness. It helps to know I have people sending positive vibes, helps to push the drama crap to the back of my mind....

  • Hi Ree,

Sorry to hear about your Dad.It must be hard for you to travel when you are not well and then to have to put up with family "stuff".Believe me we all have family memebers who annoy the hell out of us and you can't change them. You can only control your own reactions. If you can't avoid them then keep the conversations civil and generic. You are there for your dad and you need to keep calm for your  own health.Save your strength for the important stuff. Hope the weather and the visit improves for you.

  • Oh Ree, this all brings back memories, i feel so much for you right now. just be there for you and Dad ignore the rest of the crap.say what needs to be said to Dad and just let him know you love him. he will know.

my Dad had a massive stroke and was like a baby he didnt supposedly know what was going on according to the doctors.but i just talked to him normal.. i told him i loved him kissed him and said if he wanted to go to mum we would be fine. a tear rolled down his face. i know he heard me.

the next morning he had died peacefully.

it must be so hard for you with all your own hassles and having to deal with this and family too. i am with you in spirit. stay strong for yourself. the rest will be sorted out later.

i know when my Dad passed away the bull shit that went on was pathetic but do what you can while you can, but remember YOU. when all is said and done you can't let the small crap get to you. trust me i have times when i let crap get to me and once i think about it i know how silly it is, at the moment it is about you and dad.

keep me posted . you can call me any time if you need too. Fran
