Tingling, pins and needles and a crawling sensation in hands and feet are signs of neuropathy. Often caused by chemo (chemo induced neuropathy), diabetes and/or nerve damage to the spine. I am currently dealing with it in my hands and forearms and a burning sensation down one leg. I don't believe mine is from any back or spinal nerve damage and I don't have diabetes. I had chemo and radiation 14 mths ago and the pins and needles started a few months after in my hands and arms first and have progressed to a really bad numbness which is affecting my life now. Pins and needles started a little later only in my right foot and is now a constant burning sensation all the way up to my thigh, It feels like a sunburn. I talk to my GP and Oncologist about it every time I see them and they show no concern, just something I have to live with and it may improve with time. There isn't a lot you can do other than live with it, or there are a few medications if it is painful.
At the moment my numbness has progressed to my torso and my hands feel like rubber and feel like I've been carrying bricks around all day. I can't touch type anymore, just two fingered typing, I knock glasses of water over and am very clumsy. My spatial awareness has been affected. So now my GP is ready to do something as it has progressed. My GP thinks it may be due to my monthly Zoladex injections to stop my oestrogen production, which I've been having since Feb last year. I'm off to see my Oncologist this afternoon to see what he thinks. My quality of life has deteriorated so I'm really ready to do something about it instead of putting up with it in the hope that I am preventing my cancer from coming back. It is REALLY affecting my day to day life. I'm only 48 and I feel like I have MS or Parkinsons.
So @Mira take a note of when your tingling started and it's progression and when it gets worrying for you. Keep telling your GP and Oncologist every visit so they can keep track of it too. As mine has progressed to my torso and may lead on to other issues (incontinence, muscle problems, heart and lungs etc) that is when they will take notice and maybe do something about it. I understand the tingling can be very annoying. Hang in there.
