UNDER CONSTUCTION!

Day 14 - Fourth expansion

After last weeks sooky la la adventure....I can report I am feeling much better this week.

I won't say I'm PERFECT, but my mind isn't swirling with all that dread and darkness. I gave myself a good talking too...took time to cry...took time to rest and clear my mind.....I have emerged feeling a little fresher, you know, like after a really good rain when the worlds grit has been washed away....you can smell the clean...

I tried not to think to much about anything yesterday...but thoughts about Dad....Mother in Law and a friend Rosa were in my mind.....I really miss them so much, but I know they would be yelling at me to pick myself up and get on with it too! I draw on THEIR strength when I am in the abyss.....I know they're watching over me.....

So the sun rises again on a new day ..went about my ususal morning routine......I managed to go to work this mornng.....I did the wages and I did the invoicing!....slow and steady...a much better attempt than Tuesday!

Then it was time to go to my expansion appointment....I forced myself not to think about it at all....not to get myself worked up. I suceeded! I went in with a smile on my face and an apology to my surgeon for my meltdown last week....He said I was allowed to have a meltdown, I've been through an awful lot and he was glad that I'm doing better...

He checked me over and is happy with my progress....So the filling began....Left side first....as it's the side giving me the most discomfort....I try really hard not to look at the needle an syringe, but it's huge and it's a bit hard not to notice it! I should probably close my eyes next time! In it goes.......60mls in no problem.....another 20....getting tighter....another 10 that's enough....

Onto the right.......60mls in easy....another 40....think that's enough thanks....all done. So that takes my totals to - right side = 440mls & left side = 390mls. I feel like Popeye after he eats his spinach! All puffed up like a muscle bound machine!

I don't have an appointment next week as he is away, so I get a bit of a breather...I think that's a good thing?? ...He's aiming at getting another 300 mls in each (I think) in the last few expansions. He did say before he wanted to over fill to allow for shrinkage during radiation....but I'll have to clarify this when I see him next....I'll take the week off for now!

I am still taking Targin pain killers as I find I can't tolerate the pain otherwise...and I am glad i had them on board this afternoon when i left for home after work! I was rather sleepy by the time I got home, so off to bed for my nap....

My chest feels really, really tight. The muscles above where the expanders sit are really sore and go into spasm every now and then....Not nice!.... But the Dr gave me the all clear to go ahead with physio.....So I will be able to get my arms moving properly with some exercises within my capability soon...I need to be able to get my arm above my head for radiotherapy! So I hope I can get that happening quickly!

I am otherwise doing OK...I can see progress with my reconstruction now .... I am slowly making my way through that tunnel....

Have a nice evening all!
