The news I hadn't wanted

I am sorry that your news wasn't what you had hoped for :/ I too had to have a re excision 3 weeks after my first lumpectomy to get clear margins.....my invasive tumour was 7cm (hormone receptive, Grade 2 , Stage 3, I was positive in the nodes (4) (they tested them while I was under and removed them along with 20 more with the first lumpectomy) then chemo, then bi lateral mastectomy, then radiation (just finished 27/10....It all happens so quickly, your head is in a spin....the mastectomy was no where near what I had prepared myself for.....all my scans have come back clear.....hoping your scans do too! ......again take your time....rest....rest......rest. Do your excercises.....let yourself cry.......BREATHE ......you've got this and we've got your back <3

I had all my scans, bone etc, before surgery. They also thought no lymph nodes involved but they were wrong and I had to go back for a second surgery too. All gone the second time and then you move on for chemo etc. At least they work hard to get to the bottom of it and don't give up. You hang in there. <3

Shaylls, so sorry to hear of the news so far for you. It becomes almost surreal doesn't it? as it all happens so quickly, seems to go from nothing to complete chaos. I think the not knowing is the worst, I found for myself once I knew all results and the complexity of the whole thing, I then could understand what my treatment plan was going to be and why. None of it easy...wishing you good results for full body scan. I had that done last July after I had a recurrence in my left breast, it was Stage 3 Aggressive. It does sound like you will have Chemo and Rads based on what youve said this far, all I can say having traveled this road for 5yrs and gone through it twice is take a day at a time...Hugs, we are all here listening and wanting to help in any way we can. Oh Shaylee, I am so sorry you have received this news! I know a little of how you feel. My tumour was originally thought to be 3cm on mammogram/ultrasound, but my surgeon sent me for an mri which showed it was actually 9cm tumour in left breast! they also thought on mri I had cancer in right breast and an abnormal lymph node under left arm. I was sent for a full body bonescan and ct chest/abdo/pelvis. These showed spots on both lungs! It is so scary! Thankfully they have now excluded cancer in right breast and the lymph node that looked bad, the lungs they're not 100% sure but think it's probably OK. The waiting while they gathered their info was frustrating because I just wanted it out! But now I am having chemo before surgery and am now at peace with that decision. All I can say is you are in really good hands. There are fantastic results for breast cancer treatment nowadays. Try not to focus on the scary things that you can't control, and focus instead on all the small wins. Big hugs to you and I hope tomorrow is a much better day. Kate x

A tough day is an understatement. sorry that the news was not as you had wished. None of us want to be in this club but know that the scans will help with the treatment plan.
