Staying positive

I so enjoyed dropping my daughter off at school today (she's in prep). First time I have driven since surgery so it felt good to be out again and be a "school mum", something I have looked forward to for so long. Also enjoying my last week with my long hair before chemo starts. Ah, hair...

I am pretty sure I have decided on the course of chemo the oncologist has offered. FEC/T. Pretty sure...still have until Friday to give her a final answer.

A week full of appointments - CT and bone scans, heart test, radiologist. It's all happening.

  • It's good to hear of your positive experience of FEC/D. I have been reading mixed "reviews" so to speak. :)

  • Grab onto those special everyday moments with your daughter, family and friends. They will give you the strength to weather through the tougher days. I also had FEC/D (I think Docetaxel is just another name for taxotere) as my chemo cocktail. Everyone is different but I found I had more good days than bad during chemo so I hope you find the same. I made the most of those good days, even having 3 mini weekend 'holidays' to recharge my own and the whole family's batteries!

3 years down the track I am very healthy and enjoying the ordinary things that I now appreciate even more because of my experience with bc.

Good luck with everything. Take care. Deanne xxx

  • Hi!  It's funny how this experience makes us appreciate the everyday tasks.  Good to have a little bit normality come back when BC has dominated.  Good luck with the next phase of treatment.

    Take care  Christine xx
